The way speakers handle and distribute power
is universal. The way a speaker takes applied energy and turns
it into sound mixed with how it uses that energy is vital
in speaker design.
Our background is very much in the world of
subwoofers and speakers. We will never run from that. What
we've done with the eDi 6000s v.2 set is developed various
little trickle down versions of subwoofer technology and construction
into this offering.
The end result is not only our first proprietary
and completely eD tooled component system but one that is
going to sets new performance standards in it's price range.
A large part of creating a component system that will perform
well is knowing it has to do it for a long time. Designing
it to be reliable. That's where a lot of this trickle down
technology really comes from. What we learned about building
better subwoofers can be implemented right into building better
midrange drivers.
FLEX Spider Design.
This has really been utilized very heavily with
since it's inception in 2004 in our subwoofers. Since becoming
a integrated feature in every single v.2 subwoofer we make.
Essentially is what is happening here is the FLEX spider design
actually allows the suspension to function as a passive limiter.
It controls when physically the speaker is allowed to move
and when the roll design begins to limit it to do a number
of things. Most notably it makes the speaker more difficult
to harm because the pro-active spider design actually helps
protect the speaker in incredibly high abuse situations. One
thing many people don't realize is the FLEX design also allows
us to tighten tolerances (which lowers long term failure rate)
and increases power handling. The result. Better durability.
Better performance. Better power handling.
Stamped(+) Basket.
This is noted in the features listing but matched
with a true FLEX design there clearance is not a nice thing
to have, it's a necessity. The new basket design allows us
to have a full 13MM of rearward throw before having problems.
Match this with ample FLEX spider design and you have a speaker
that is incredibly difficult to damage. This also allows to
do things like add more throw, add more speaker output, and
increase reliability. It seems simple. However it's the small
things that have trickled into the 6000s v.2 set that really
is going to blow the competition out of the water. The result.
Better durability. Better power handling.
Co-Linear Motor Technology.
Also developed for the v.2 subwoofer line when
used with FLEX a incredibly tight tolerance in the motor really
creates more consistent measurements in production and shipping
but it increases low input efficiency. The way the speaker
actually distributes power and how the speaker responds to
the signal input actually making SOUND! This motor is actually
the first eD proprietary Co-Linear motor built for a midrange
driver in our car audio division. What you'll find is weight
is kept to a manageable size while you benefit from tight
tolerances and production knowledge. The result. Better durability.
Better efficiency.
Zero Triple Joint Assembly.
Triple Joints. Just sounds like a icky word
doesn't it? Well. It should. The new Eu-630 midrange actually
features a neck connection similar to that which you will
find on every single v.2 subwoofer. A elevated cone / voice
coil connection allows us to completely remove issues associated
with a triple joint completely. It also allows us to use specific
jigs during production which in turn create a better glue
joint . The result. Better durability.
The 6000s v.2 System pushes the envolope. Applied
technology, engineering knowledge, production techniques really
make it something worth using in your vehicle.
