Who we are:

We are a dedicated group of audio enthusiasts brought together with a common ideal. We design and build a quality product by putting good ideas together. We offer these products to our customers at a great price without the need for a middle man. We achieve this by not only using existing technology, but by developing our own when needed. This development has resulted in a catalog of over 200 specialized toolings specifically created for ED products. Each subwoofer under the Elemental Designs umbrella is comprised largely or entirely of Elemental Designs proprietary engineering. This customized design results in performance available only here, nowhere else, at any price.

 
Our in-house development, coupled with a very streamlined ordering system, allows us to deliver a quality product to our customers as quickly as possible. Elemental Designs relies on a grass roots oriented business model. The feedback from our customers shape the future of our product line. We will leverage these ideas and turn them into a product that appeals directly to our clientele. We are not interested in wasting our time or resources on developing a product our customers will not want or use.

At Elemental Designs, we work exceptionally hard to remain a customer centric organization. Almost all of our employees began as eD clients. With this, we remain more attached to our client base. Our products and services are important to not only our customers, but also to ourselves. We strive to apply this vested interest to our customer service. When you call eD, you will speak with someone, not something. We take pride in this accessibility.

Our product base remains centralized in 12V and Home Audio markets. Our diversified offerings are manufactured all over the world. This in turn allows us to offer you the best prices and services possible. Elemental Designs is currently developing numerous Pro Audio and Professional Engineering Studio platforms as well. As a manufacturer, we are not forced to operate under the constraints of a typical “reseller” of audio products. If you want something done differently, we’ll work with you to turn your idea into a custom solution.

Brief History:

2002 (February)
- Company founded at University of Northern Iowa.
- Original 'e' series carbon fiber cone speakers released. 12 speakers are sold initially.

2002 (September)
- Company outgrows 'no space' and moved into first office complex in Waterloo, IA. 700 Sq. Ft.
- Paper cone 'e' series paper cone speakers begin shipping. K, SP Speaker lines ship. eDead line begins.
- Flat cone NOMEX K, O, A Lines ship. Enjoy success. Discontinued due to supplier problems.

2003
- Company outgrows space in Waterloo.
- Moved to North Liberty, IA. 1,500 Sq. Ft.
- eD v.2 products begin to ship. Kv.2 / Ov.2 products & eDi line ship. eDead updated.
- NINe.X 12v amplifier line added.

2005
- Company begins offering custom manufactured wood products.
- Adds 900 Sq. Ft. Warehouse. (2,100 total Square feet)
- HT Development begins.
- Custom programs seen online for the first time.
- Company does first large volume OEM work for major auto manufacturer.
- Company integrated largely popular "Live Support" function.

2006
- Company outgrows space. Purchased 10,000 Sq. Ft. building in Newton, IA & 2 acres of development land.
- Kv.3 / Ov.3 lines begin shipping.
- Elemental Designs adds in-house paint and CNC capability.
- Adds larger staff. Begins manufacturing in Iowa.

2007
- HT eDi line begins shipping.
- A2 / A3 / A5 / A7 HT Subwoofer lines begin shipping.
- High end development begins.

2008
- Company begins planning for additional 14,000 Sq. Ft. Addition.
- Additional HT products added.
- Av.2 line begins shipping.
- e3 / e5 / e9 lines announced. Investments made in tooling. Not marketing.
- Production capacity triples through use of in-house wood shop and paint shop
- Iowa manufactured goods by Elemental Designs reach 40% of total revenue.
